Nature’s Best Photography Africa is a South African non for profit entity that was established in 2015 to foster a love for and desire to protect the natural resources of Africa through photography and education.
We achieve this by conceptualising and implementing various activities, exhibitions, educational programs, a publication and competitions throughout the year.

Nature’s Best Photography Africa is now the ‘premier annual African nature focused photography competition in the world’ run in association with Iziko Museums of South Africa.

The extremely popular annual exhibition of award winning photographs is hosted annually at the Iziko SA Museum. NBP Africa is proud to be associated with NBP Global whose annual exhibition has been hosted annually at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History for over 20 years.

“Promote photographic excellence amongst existing photographers”
“Attract new audiences from all segments of our population to photography as an art form”
“Encourage a love for and desire to protect our natural heritage”
“Market the continent of Africa to a massive global audience”

Competition Closes: 2nd July 2018

Nature’s Best Photography Africa is a new extension of this globally recognized program with ambitious plans to become the premier African focused photographic competition of today, bringing special attention to the spectacular diversity of Africa’s flora and fauna.

NBPA is now entering the third year of the competition and has shown substantial growth from its launch in 2015. The size of the awards exhibition will grow substantially in 2018 when NBPA moves into a much larger renovated area.

Natures Best Photography Africa is proudly run in association with the prestigious Iziko South African Museum, located in Cape Town.  Join us on this photographic journey into wild Africa. Selected images will be featured in publications, museum exhibitions, and online presentations.

The Owners of Natures Best Photography Africa are determined to build a world class judging panel of current working professionals operating at the cutting edge of their preferred genre. Fundamentally this requires that the judging panel is not changed every year but has slowly expanded to include more specialists as the competition grows. This is primarily a photographic competition judged by photographers.

Please purchase the 2015 & 2016 & 2017 Catalogue to not only support the developing NBPA program but also to have an inside look on what impressed the judges in the previous competitions.
